I had a fantastic time at the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel & Spa. The location was perfect, right on the river with easy access to local attractions, which I loved. The room was spacious and offered stunning views of the Truckee River, although the bathroom could have been a bit larger for my taste. The staff were friendly and professional, enhancing my overall stay, but I was disappointed with the small bathroom layout and a couple of maintenance issues. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience that I would recommend.

Rooms

I stayed in a large 1-bedroom corner suite with many floor-to-ceiling windows. The views were beautiful, but I did find the bathroom to be smaller than I expected.

The staff, particularly in the restaurant, were friendly and attentive. They really contributed to making my stay pleasant with their warm service.
Location

I had an excellent dining experience at the hotel's restaurant, The Shore. The Greek cuisine was some of the best I've ever had, rivaling even that of my travels to Greece.

The amenities included engaging game facilities and a rooftop pool that offered great relaxation options. I enjoyed the artistic atmosphere in the lobby, especially with live music.

My stay at the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel & Spa was enjoyable, especially thanks to the friendly and professional staff and the relaxing atmosphere at the bar/lounge. I loved the comfortable and clean accommodations, topped off with excellent views of the Truckee River. However, the area surrounding the hotel had some challenges, including a noticeable homeless presence, which made me feel a bit uneasy walking around, especially at night.

Rooms

I appreciated the spacious corner suite that had stunning views of the river, which provided a great backdrop for my stay. The room was well-appointed with a large bathroom and lots of closet space, but I did notice that rooms on lower floors lack such views.
Service
10.0
The staff was consistently warm and accommodating, particularly at the concierge lounge, where there were snacks and drinks available throughout the day. I also had a great experience at the restaurant with attentive waitstaff. Nigel at the front desk went above and beyond to assist me, making my check-in process smooth.
Location
7.0
The hotel's central location was a big plus, being only a street away from the Patagonia outlet and near local attractions. However, the surrounding area could feel a bit dicey due to the presence of homeless individuals, which somewhat affected my willingness to explore the area on foot.
Dining
9.0
Dining at the hotel was quite a highlight for me. The restaurant overlooking the river offered delicious dishes, and the ambiance was lovely for enjoying drinks and appetizers. I particularly enjoyed the charred octopus and hummus.
Facilities

I loved the variety of game facilities available, like bocce ball and pool, which kept me entertained during downtime. The rooftop pool offered a pleasant space to relax, although I did encounter some minor inconveniences with parking during busier times.

My stay at the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel was a mix of highs and lows. I loved the hotel's sleek design and the welcoming atmosphere, especially in the restaurant where the service was excellent. However, I encountered some issues with my room’s amenities, like the air conditioning not working properly and lacking adequate supplies like bottled water. Overall, while there were some hiccups, I can see potential for another stay in the future. 😊

Rooms

I found my room to be clean and comfortable, but it was a bit cramped and lacking some basic amenities like enough bottled water. The area felt a little dingy, which impacted my overall experience.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Truckee River, perfect for a scenic walk, and not far from local shops and casinos.

My recent stay at the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel was quite a mix. The hotel has a modern vibe and stylish decor that I really appreciated, especially the views of the Truckee River. However, I did face some challenges during my visit, including a lengthy check-in process and some minor maintenance issues in my room. I'd definitely consider staying here again, especially for the engaging atmosphere and great dining options.

6.4/10

I had a mixed experience at the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel. While the hotel itself was beautiful with clean rooms and a modern vibe, the customer service left much to be desired. I faced issues during check-in and was disappointed that breakfast was no longer available for loyalty members, which made me question my future stays.

Rooms
6.0
My room was nice and clean, though it lacked basic amenities like a functioning jacuzzi, which was a letdown. Also, the shower door design was confusing and not user-friendly.
Service
5.0
The staff experience varied widely; some like Susan were friendly and helpful, but the check-in process felt slow and frustrating. I wasn’t offered an upgrade, which I later found out was available.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location is cool, just a short walk from restaurants and casinos, but the surrounding area had its share of homeless people, which was disheartening.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were limited and breakfast being discontinued was disappointing. The lounge service did not have fresh eggs despite my request, which was a bummer.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities were decent but nothing special. The valet process was a bit stressful with strict time limits, and I struggled with the phone system to reach the spa, which was rarely staffed.
